September AND October 2020 - Avenues for Youth

Business was a bit slow in September, so for the entire month of October, 10% of all purchases made through Good Deed Glass will still be donated to Avenues for Youth!

Avenues for Youth empowers youth ages 16-24 to find their path out of homelessness by providing a stable home, building trusting relationships, and navigating the youth’s education, career, health and wellness and housing goals.

In 2011, I rode a bicycle from San Francisco, CA to Norfolk, VA and fundraised for Avenues, raising over $8,500 for them. I'm overjoyed to be able to support them again.

One of Avenues' programs that struck me was their Host Home program, which connects teens experiencing homelessness with members of the community who are LGBTQ or allies, who have a spare bedroom. This allows a teen to figure out their next steps in a safe environment, without the added disadvantage of homelessness looming over them.
